SciFaiku — A Perfect Form for Instagram and Twitter
Mix together science fiction, (or real science) with the Japanese poetic form of the Haiku, and you have Scifaiku!
Unlike traditional Haiku, which usually references a season, and the natural world, Scifaiku is almost limitless in scope. This freedom also extends to how Scifaiku can be presented on Instagram.
With some artistic creativity and the right programs, you may be able to come up with something like the examples below. (Disclosure — A family member http://www.facebook.com/antheamart who works as a graphic designer made these for me — but the principles outlined in the rest of the article still apply)
What Programs Can You Use?

which is a brilliant app for making Instagram graphics. PicCollage can be used for free, but I recommend the yearly subscription for people making a lot of graphics, as you get access to an enormous amount of backgrounds and stickers.
A quick search for other collage photo apps will bring forth hundreds of alternatives. Some are technically free although you have to accept intrusive adverts on a regular basis.
Hints and Tips
Make sure the words of the poem are clear and readable, even at thumbnail size (this means making them much larger than you think they need to be)
Use contrasting colors to make the words pop!
Make sure your name is on the image.
Think in layers. Use a variety of backgrounds and stickers in the composition.
Experiment and have fun!
