About Me
Hello friends. I'm an Australian writer (and self-publisher) who loves crafting stories across all genres, with a particular passion for Fantasy, Gothic, Fairy Tale, Pulp, and Literary fiction. It is a dream of mine to one day release 'best of X genre' collections of my work, and Substack allows me the freedom to pursue that.
I often feel pulled by opposing forces - cherishing classical literature while embracing future possibilities, appreciating fine art alongside pop culture, immersing myself in sword and sorcery tales while practicing Buddhist mindfulness. These contrasts often conflict - yet they help create a voice that is uniquely mine. This is part of what I offer as a writer, myself, no matter what I write, my author DNA is part of it.
Along with writing, I'm also a bit of an amateur artist, so you'll often see my stories paired with visuals—hand-drawn illustrations, digital art, even AI-generated images when they serve the story. I also work across other mediums like music, creating a multi-sensory experience that enhances my storytelling. Words are powerful, but sometimes a picture or melody really does complete the experience.
Some of my stories will be illustrated by my talented mother, Anthea M. I am hoping at some point that she will start her own Substack newsletter, and when she does It will be on my recommended list. We are going to be collaborating on a series of children's books in the near future.
